Wow, vor 3 Wochen habe ich mich noch über den ersten 100er des Jahres gefreut, heute waren es schon 153 kWh Strom vom Dach. Das sind schon fast 3/4 der Maximalmenge die die Anlage im Sommer liefern kann.
Die Tage sind jetzt zwar noch viel kürzer, aber sonnig und kalt kann schon auch was! #Fernfusion läuft würde ich sagen.

Text messages and positional data sent to aprs.fi via a #LoRa #Mesh. Not unlike #meshtastic but the protocol is specifically designed hor hamradio purposes.
The T-Deck support is a bit preliminary but the basic stuff works already. For other LoRa Modules there is a smartphone App.

Trying out Meshcom by passing messages between LoRa, traditional APRS on 2m FM and the Internet. This is pretty awesome!
For good measure, APRS over TCP is done with Xastir running on a sBitX HF SDR which includes a Raspberry Pi. Because that's how we radio *@Metafunk ⚡

To be more specific - I have been trying for days to get Epicyon running on my server. Installation was easy and it is running, just not completely. I cannot follow people or accept follows from others and proxying is the most likely culprit (I'm seeing 400 and 401 errors in Epicyon's logs)
The Installation Manual describes how to set up a nginx Reverse Proxy but I already have Apache and cannot change that. I do run other services using it as a proxy though and these all work as expected.
I'm out of ideas and would appreciate any help translating from nginx config to Apache. Boosts Welcome!

Trying to follow someone on another server leads to a "400" (Friendica) or "401" Error (Mastodon). This is what I see in my local Apache logs.
I'm also looking through the server logs on the receiving side (my own Friendica instance) where I have find a "verification failed" - which would explain why the receiver replies with a 400/401 Error.
I can see nothing obviously wrong with the request data and suspect there has to be a minor detail wrong with the http headers on requests that originate and go out from behind the reverse proxy.
Incoming request work as expected.
Still not a bit closer to a solution, but I now learned how to use debugpy and VSCodium for debugging python stuff running live on the server. Pretty awesome!

Nachdem die Tracking Hölle(*) bei klassischen Medien einfach unerträglich ist, wollte ich das eh schon lange unterstützen - "put your money where your mouth is" oder so in der Art.
(*) ja, ich bin durchaus in der Lage mich technisch gegen Tracking zu wehren. Trotzdem, wer seine Nutzer derart verkauft, hat meine Aufmerksamkeit nicht verdient.

Until recently I only knew CPC computers from online pictures. Well that has changed because I just got a Schneider CPS 464 (the German version of the Amstrad CPC 464).
What can I say - it's really cool. I now have to build some cables to be able to check if it is still working. But it's in good condition so I'm rather confident. There's only one capacitor inside from what I figured out from online sources so what could possibly go wrong.

Wie divers ist das #Fediverse?
Nach den vielen Diskussionen der letzten Tage, darüber ob man das Fediverse auch einfach "#Mastodon Netzwerk" nennen kann, darf oder gar sollte, interessiert mich diese Frage tatsächlich.
Ich habe daher mal bei mir selber nachgesehen, mit für mich überraschenden Ergebnissen. Nach Servern liegt Mastodon zwar vorne, kommt aber insgesamt nur auf etwa ein Drittel der verbundenen Server, knapp gefolgt von #WordPress. Also das hätte ich nicht gedacht! Alle anderen Dienste bewegen sich hingegen im einstelligen Prozentbereich, was aber auch noch zum Teil gut über 1000 individuelle Server bedeutet.
Nach angemeldeten (nicht aktiven) Nutzern kommt Mastodon auf gut 70% - das entspricht schon eher meinen Erwartungen. Bei den aktiven Nutzern wäre das nach meiner Vermutung weniger. Das ist aber nur eine Vermutung und die Zahlen konnte ich auf die Schnelle nicht herausfinden. Trotzdem. Eine Mastodon Monokultur sieht anders aus. Und das ist auch gut so!
Wer kann weitere Daten beitragen? Ich bitte darum!

Diese Annahnme habe ich überhaupt nicht getroffen - wie auch?
Die Daten repräsentieren die Verbindungen die mein eigener Friendica Server aktuell hat. Die sind sowohl abzählbar als auch auflistbar. Es ist meine ganz persönliche Sicht aufs Fediverse und explizit als Beispiel erwähnt. Das steht auch so im Text.
Daher auch meine Frage zu weiteren Daten anderer Fedizens. Ich hoffe ja immer noch, dass da ein bisschen was kommt.

Recreational Computing of the day - using a Mega65 and a Link232 WiFi Modem built for C64s to connect to the snobsoft.de BBS.
Lot's of technology on my side although with the original Look&Feel - yes I was to lazy to set up the real, period-correct hardware.
But this i not true for the BBS. Snobsoft.de still runs on the original Hardware! A C64, two Disk Drives and it even offers real Modem connections (besides Telnet). It just had a brief hiatus of a few decades but is now reachable again!

Just built a few wireless temperature/humidity sensors with Raspberry Picos and DHT22s.
I've been running a pretty extended 1-wire network for many years. It has always been very reliable except the temperature/humidity/brightness sensors I had deployed. No filters, repeaters, network splitting etc. could really remedy the problems. Now removed the 1-wire Multisensors and deployed this wireless alternative while the other 1-wire devices remain in use.
The new devices cost around 10 euros each and programming them with with micropython is a piece of cake for anyone who has some experience using microcontrollers. The Data are sent to OpenHab using MQTT, integrating nicely with the existing setup.
When I started to build my sensor network almost 20 years ago, these devices did not exist of course. But today I'd build almost everything using WIFI enabled microcontrollers and MQTT. No pulling cables, no devices taking down the entire network when failing and it's cheaper too. That is pretty awesome!

Was das also alles genau macht weiß ich such nur Ansatzweise. Man kann sich jedenfalls vieles nach belieben konfigurieren.
